Chances are you've got a choice of tools in most jobs you need to do.
If you can't do this in F-Spot, The GIMP can be as complex as you want
it to be, since you can learn only the bits that you want to.
In this instance, try this:
Open your image in The GIMP by doing the following:
Right-click on the image file
in the menu that pops up, choose 'Open With...'
then 'Open with 'GIMP Image Editor'.
Then consult the attachment.
