OK, that's strange. Could I just ask which version of Ubuntu you're
using? If you're running Dapper (6.06LTS), I think that f-spot is in the
'universe' software repository, which you need to turn on [1]. You could
also press the 'Reload' button in Synaptic and try to search for f-spot
again.
