Following one of the recent updates, the splash screen and boot up information between the the Grub display and the desktop, has disappeared. The system boots up OK but the screen stays blank until the desktop shows up. How can I recover the startup screen. Kubuntu 6.06. I hope someone can offer some assistance. Best wishes, Bernard Hill
