Hello translators!
We're reaching out for you about the Xubuntu documentation. We have now
passed the documentation string freeze, and the Xubuntu documentation team
has also finished the strings for the documentation for 15.10.
This is where we need your help!
The Xubuntu documentation is currently shipped in some languages only. Not
all of these are complete translations, so more work needs to be done for
them. The shipped, but incomplete translations are German and French. We
would be happy if you could help us finish these before the translation
deadline on October 8.
Of the languages that aren't shipped, Russian, in particular, is close to
the translated string threshold - 70% for the Xubuntu documentation. It
would be nice to get this translation progressing at least in a manner that
it could be included for 15.10, and potentially complete for the 16.04 LTS.
And of course, if the languages you are familiar with aren't mentioned yet,
don't hesitate to start working on the translation for them either!
Finally, we have quite a lot of translated but unreviewed strings.
Reviewers, please take some time to go through the proposed strings so the
work done on them hasn't gone into waste.
If this is going to be your first effort translating, we strongly ask you
to have a thorough read of the Xubuntu Translation Guidelines [1] wiki
page, which outlines our guidelines and conventions.
If you have any further questions or concerns about translating the Xubuntu
documentation particularly, we will be happy to assist you and answer your
questions. You can contact us by sending an email to the Xubuntu developers
mailing list [3] or by joining the IRC channel #xubuntu-devel (on
Freenode), which is active on most days at most times. If nobody seems to
be around when you join, wait for somebody to pop up or simply send an
email - we will get back to you when we have time.
On behalf of the Xubuntu documentation team,
