Blanking a po?

Yeah, if you upload a blank PO file, the blank translations won't
override the current ones.

One thing you can do, though, is that if you know from which translator
these translations come, you can just click on the "Translation details"
link within a translation template, which will take you to the list of
contributors (e.g. [1]). You can then filter and show the translations
by contributor.

Seeing the Scottish Gaelic translations, I'm not sure this will help
much, but it might be useful as a tip.
