Hi translators,

I'm just forwarding this in case you haven't seen it on Planet Ubuntu
and the translators Facebook page, as I think it's great news for Arabic
and Hebrew users.

http://design.canonical.com/2011/01/hebrew-and-arabic-on-track/

Some extracts:

Arabic
[...] we discussed and refined the trials until we arrived at the design
that we are now all happy with: a primarily Kufic design that is
tempered with some Naskh elements to make it suitable for text size
reading [...]

Hebrew
[...] The Hebrew Regular is now completed and Pilar [a designer in the
Dalton Maag team] is proceeding with designing the Italic style [...]

In short, the Ubuntu font design in those scripts is doing great
progress, which is awesome.

If you want to follow the development, check out the planned milestones
here: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu-font-family/+milestones

Regards,
David.
