Hi Thanos,

Well spotted. That's because the cheese package does not create a POT
file on build, which is a requirement for its translations to be
imported into Launchpad.

I've filed this bug against cheese [1] for the package maintainer to add
Launchpad Translations support to the package. In the meantime, if
anyone would like to have a go at a creating a branch with a patch and
linking it to the bug, what needs to be implemented is what Martin
mentions on this comment [2].

As background information for anyone interested in testing this, you can
reproduce this type of bugs locally by:

1) having installed the 'pkgbinarymangler' package,
2) modifying the '/etc/pkgbinarymangler/stritptranslations.conf' file
'enable: ' line to be 'true'
3) building the package (e.g. with debuild)

After a successful build, you'll then see an additional file called
<packagename>_translations.tar.gz, which should contain a POT file
inside the source/po directory of the tarball.

You'll find some more information here [3].
