How can I check the Openoffice translation?

Unfortunately, no. You'd have to re-compile OpenOffice.org with your
translations integrated. To integrate them, you'd first have to merge
them into an SDF file using translate toolkit.

If someone has gone through the procedure, having a write-up would be
helpful, though still not something that can be trivially done. The
process might be similar to what upstreams do, so if there's a useful
guide there as well, by all means, point everybody at it.
