I'm Hamza Boughraira, I work as a DevOps engineer at Vistaprint, We're thinking about hosting an event related to free software in the DevOps industry, we want to introduce the Ubuntu-TN community to Vistaprint's engineers through this event. We're looking for speakers from the community to share knowledge and to show the importance of free software in the DevOps industry. The topic of the event is related to *CI/CD, Container Orchestration, Infrastructure Automation, Cloud Computing.....* If Anyone is interested, please feel free to reply to this email. Can you please explain the topic? If I understand this right, you wanna give a talk about how the Free and Open Source movement helped advancing the DevOps world? We're not talking about a technical talk here where we prent a tool and do a workshop about it like we did multiple times before. Am I right? BTW, don't forget that you are member of this community, so technically speaking you can do a such talk as Utn member, same for Naeil who is you co-worker. A final question, this will be an Open event as usual, right? Afaik, we never liked or approved "private" events ;-) Regards, Sent from a mobile device with. Please excuse brevity and typos. Now on to the matter at hand: Google Code-In. This is a project Google hosts where open source organizations participate, providing bite size tasks and mentorship for 13-17 year olds from around the world. The winners and their parents get to hang out with Google in San Francisco for what is ultimately a really, really cool trip. Ubuntu has participated in this for several years, with Canonical providing the admins. Now there is a [plan][1] to have Canonical do a Snappy organization, with a separate community-driven Ubuntu organization. The problem is that we're scrambling to put the application together before the deadline Monday. The big hurdle is tasks. We need tasks across a wide variety of disciplines and some need to be a bit easier than another ones. That said, I'd love to have your input. Feel free to throw your task ideas right on the [pad][2] we have created or simply get in touch with an email reply, on Discourse or on #ubuntu-google on Freenode. Additionally, if any of you would like to mentor, it's a really great opportunity. You get a t-shirt out of the deal, too! It's strange how one forget to say "Thank you" more often to people who helped and keeps helping him, so, I'd like to say a huge *THANK YOU* to *nizarus, d4rk-5c0rp, LunaPersa, GoldenScorp, BilGa, Geekette86, Neo31, naeilzoueidi *and *ALL* current/former members of the community for being there for me when I needed them, thank you guys for being there for the community. And an eternal thank you for the Ubuntu-tn community as whole, because of it I met multiple awesome folks from other Tunisian communities (Drupal-tn, Wikimedia-tn, Mozilla-tn, Fedora-tn, OpenTunisia, CLibre, CLLFST, CLLFMS, Freeways, etc..) and International ones. Soon, a new chapter will start, a chapter where I'll try to build on what I built in the previous one.. I am sending this email to announce my decision to step down from the *LoCo Contact*[0] position and the *Management Committee membership*[1], as mentioned in the *COC*[2] "When somebody leaves or disengages from the project, we ask that they do so in a way that minimises disruption to the project. They should tell people they are leaving and take the proper steps to ensure that others can pick up where they left off." Usually, the two positions should be held by one of the current FF[3] members, but, because of the contributors issue we had for years, we don't have multiple options. So, I suggest that the LoCo Contact will be handled by one of the FFs, and, as mentioned in the COC, if someone/s is/are willing to join the FF and the MC I will be more than happy to mentor him/her/them during the next months until he/she/they will be able to lead the community. Can you please help us decide on this matter? When the new LoCo Contact is elected I'll be more than happy to announce that to he LoCoTeams ML :-) However, this will not mean that I will leave the community anytime soon, one can not simply turn his back to his family and go away. I'll be here as usual and on IRC.
