We can make that happen with BootStack. Although OpenStack is well supported with compatible cloud services, there is a significant challenge to overcome before users can launch their own OpenStack cloud. That is to recruit and retain OpenStack experts in a highly competitive jobs market. It’s hard to find experienced staff, companies often struggle to deploy OpenStack on time and on budget, eroding the savings that OpenStack should bring. Read this whitepaper to discover how BootStack, a new service for setting up and operating a cloud, is the easiest and fastest way to be successful with OpenStack. Download the BootStack whitepaper today! Message-ID: Good evening & Inchallah romdhankom mabrouk, This email is an attempt to kickoff our community again, this email is a open invitation for people who wish the good of this LoCo.. For the last 2 years the LoCo activity was dropping slowly, today I believe that we reach a point that we need to stand up all together to for the good of our LoCo.. During the last period I was thinking about the ways to improve our LoCo activities and make it easier to contribute event when there is almost nobody available, and I came out with the ideas below.. Our main problem is that we are *not using* all our technical resources or we are using them in the *wrong way*.. So the *1st* thing we should do ever, is to *start the exploit* of those resources or *exploit them in a better way*.. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, let me enumerate those resources for you: - Wiki - ML - LP - LoCo Directory - IRC - Website Let me start with our *main* & *most used* resource, the *Wiki*.. We really have a *huge problem* with the wiki, we have exactly *274* of an *un-maintained wiki pages!* Most of those pages are very old that no one know about them.. Before, we used the Wiki for almost everything except the mailing & the chat (because we have this ML & IRC). Today we *need* to work on our wiki to *organize it*.. My proposition is to *minimize* the *number* of the *BASE pages*, by *sorting the existing pages* and *get the data that makes our BASE pages*. And for *everything else *(excepting the events & reports pages) it should be *archived* (at least for now). If we can start by organizing the wiki the way that it should be will proceed to the next resources, because the Wiki is the *most important resource* that we have. But, I need to share with you my thoughts about the rest of things too: *LP:* We need to use LP for *Codes*, *Blueprints*, *Polls* and *getting users information* via the *API* *(I already coded a script to get our LoCo Karma, will share it soon)*. *LoCo Dir:* use the XML output to replace some information and embed it in the Wiki pages as needed *(Useful for the events team)*. *ML:* Use more often the ML to run the projects, the archive can be useful too.. *IRC:* Have more meetings to discuss and run the projects. *Website:* That's a thing that we should talk about after finishing the wiki project. The other problem is the *lack of documents sharing*.. So I'd like to suggest that we move every thing to a *source code based files*, this way we can use LP & bzr to share the last version of the presentations and templates. Same thing works for graphic files.. So as a LoCo Contact, MC member and one of the LoCo leaders am asking you to have a *1 hour IRC meeting* next *Sunday 21 Juin 2015* by *4pm* to *discuss* the points above, *brainstorm*, create a *ToDo *and *start working* on those projects. Why I chose that date & time? It's Ramadan, and having night meetings is *not* a good option I think. So let's start with this meeting than will see what's next. Just a final comment, based on my previous experience on the community I know that I can't predict the number of people to be present during this meeting.. But I know something for sure, that we *should select just one thing to work on* *and finish *before starting the next thing.. Otherwise we'll finish by many unfinished projects like what we did in the past, that's why I proposed to work on the *Wiki* only right now. Looking forward for your comments, ideas and to see you on irc next Sunday. The first alpha of the Wily Werewolf (to become 15.10) has now been released! This alpha features images for Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu MATE, UbuntuKylin and the Ubuntu Cloud images. Pre-releases of the Wily Werewolf are *not* encouraged for anyone needing a stable system or anyone who is not comfortable running into occasional, even frequent breakage. They are, however, recommended for Ubuntu flavor developers and those who want to help in testing, reporting and fixing bugs as we work towards getting this release ready. Alpha 1 includes a number of software updates that are ready for wider testing. This is quite an early set of images, so you should expect some bugs. While these Alpha 1 images have been tested and work, except as noted in the release notes, Ubuntu developers are continuing to improve the Wily Werewolf. In particular, once newer daily images are available, system installation bugs identified in the Alpha 1 installer should be verified against the current daily image before being reported in Launchpad. Using an obsolete image to re-report bugs that have already been fixed wastes your time and the time of developers who are busy trying to make 15.10 the best Ubuntu release yet. Always ensure your system is up to date before reporting bugs. Kubuntu: Kubuntu uses KDE software and now features the new Plasma 5 desktop. The Alpha-1 images can be downloaded at: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/releases/wily/alpha-1 More information on Kubuntu Alpha-1 can be found here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WilyWerewolf/Alpha1/Kubuntu Lubuntu: Lubuntu is a flavour of Ubuntu based on LXDE and focused on providing a very lightweight distribution. The Alpha 1 images can be downloaded at: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/releases/wily/alpha-1 More information on Lubuntu Alpha-1 can be found here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WilyWerewolf/Alpha1/Lubuntu Ubuntu MATE: Ubuntu MATE is a flavour of Ubuntu featuring the MATE desktop environment. The Alpha-1 images can be downloaded at: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-mate/releases/wily/alpha-1 More information on Ubuntu MATE Alpha-1 can be found here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WilyWerewolf/Alpha1/UbuntuMATE UbuntuKylin: UbuntuKylin is a flavour of Ubuntu that is more suitable for Chinese users. The Alpha-1 images can be downloaded at: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntukylin/releases/wily/alpha-1 More information on UbuntuKylin Alpha-1 can be found here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WilyWerewolf/Alpha1/UbuntuKylin Ubuntu Cloud Ubuntu Cloud images can be run on Amazon EC2, Openstack, SmartOS and many other clouds. http://cloud-images.ubuntu.com/releases/wily/alpha-1 Regular daily images for Ubuntu can be found at: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com If you're interested in following the changes as we further develop Wily, we suggest that you subscribe to the ubuntu-devel-announce list.
