problem with Ubuntu 9/04!

Hi everybody,
Really I was surprised nice quality of graphic of Ubuntu 9.04 and also
resolution but I remark that it is not normal on my laptop it is quiet
slow ! I am surprised I don't know if this version that I got is safe
but I think it is because downloaded from the official website of
ubuntu. So i have LAPTOP DELL 1525 INSPIRON CORE 2 DUO 2GHZ !!
Is there any person  who can explain to me ?
