Hi Karim

you do not need to install the driver via wine. i suggest that you
install the driver on any windows pc, then take the file with "inf"
extension and put it on your ubuntu box and start ndiswrapper and give
him the path to the file with inf extension.

i hope that this may help you saving your moeny and just don't give up
it's linux univers it must be some way to do that.

concerning the java problem with some application this is not due to
the os, in most of case it's due to a conflict between the java engine
which come with program and the java installed on your system. it's
easy to solve this, i faced this problem many time with matlab. if you
have a program with java problem please feel free to ask.
