i hope you can understand me
just i have to explain some basics in linux:
All software who use hardware future should be used with a special right or
admin right in linux this account is Root. and to prevent from software
accident or hacker's attack system now manag a special account with non
humain future like rpm, system, ... and GDM.
gdm is the xwindow manager it permit to your ubuntu to start in graphic
version (kde or gnome)
so if you would like to repair your system you should restart your system in
special mode:

if you can start your system in console mode or if you runing a telnet/ssh
server login into your system then swith to root mode (su command) and use
this command "groupadd gdm".
or if you have the ubuntu this the dangerous way :   the rescue mode!!!
put your ubunto cd into your cdrom driver
start your system
when he ask you to boot from the cdrom putdown any key
Now booting will start from Ubuntu install CD
You will see various option screen - select *Recover a broken system*
You will system is booting in to rescue mode; system will ask about Network
and other information. This is required to setup rescue environment.
Now you will prompted to select root partition or device.
Next it will try to mount root device and it will notify the same.
Now you will see common rescue mode option such as Reinstall GRUB or open /
execute a shell etc.
Select execute a shell
excute this command "telinit 3"
reboot your system
now it should invite to login in text mode
login into your system as root
execute this command : "groupadd gdm"
run this command: "telinit 5"
restart your system
it should work.

PS: if any one can translat this to arabic it will be great :)
this solution wortk fine for all debian base distribution.
