[Bug 982956] Re: HUD won't show main window menu options when a chat window has focus

My steps to reproduce:

Open Empathy Contact List (click Chat on messaging menu)
Open a Conversation window to one of my contacts
Press Alt key to open the HUD
Type "Pref"

Multiple entries are displayed, none of which are the "Edit >
Preferences" option for the Empathy preferences. It doesn't matter
whether I use the mouse or keyboard to select an option, I'm unable to
get to the Empathy preferences.

If I change the search string in HUD to "Prefer", I only see 2
"Preferences" options - one for Dropbox and one for indicator-multiload,
both of which are running as indicator apps (i.e. by the clock on the
top right, I think I have the name right).
