[Bug 1044120] [NEW] empathy-chat crashes when opening a window for a specific contact

Public bug reported:

every time i open a chat window for a specific contact, empathy crashes.

for some reason, apport doesn't send the crash report, but silently
exits, so attaching the /var/crash file to this manually filed bug
