[Bug 854666] [NEW] Starting empathy from messaging indicator makes window disappear

Public bug reported:

Since a couple of updates ago, when I start empathy using the messaging
indicator, the empathy window appears for a second on my screen and then
disappears. I need to click on the message indicator again to display
the window.

This is a bad user experience.
