[Bug 889270] Re: empathy tray icon missing and no setting to disable auto-start

Ubuntu 11.10 (not beta), amd64, updated today.
The same story - no way to selectively disable empathy from autostart. You can even install pidgin and empathy still starts in the background! No entry for "empathy" or "telepathy" or "whatever like this" in /etc/xdg/autostart/
