Additional information:

Problem is caused by a jabber account I am using. The problem vanishes if I disable that account.
Jabber server in question is a corporate jabber server with encrypted connection only. 

Other active accounts are Bonjour, GoogleTalk and Facebook.

So, please check if people using (other) jabber accounts have this
problem, too, or if it caused by this specific jabber server I am using.
