[Bug 830872] [NEW] All contacts relative to Google Accounts have disappeared from Empathy

I'm creating this bug report based on the question #168705 because I
have this problem too.

After an Ubuntu update 2 days ago, my google chat contacts have
disappeared from Empathy. My chat status however shows as 'available'.
I'm also visible to my contacts and they're able to initiate chats with
me..

I'm running a 64bit version of Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS with empathy
2.30.3-0ubuntu1.

>From my apt logs the last update that I have done was:

When I have restarted the computer and thus Empathy, the problem
appeared for the first time.
