I would absolutely love this feature.  The inability to show only
specific users when they are offline is one of the very few reasons I
have stuck with Pidgin.  Particularly with the Favourite option, this
could be a superb addition.  If not globally, perhaps a preferences
option of "Show favourites when offline."
