I found a workaround for this bug. Uncheck the option: "Enable notifications when the chat is not focused" in "Preferences>Notifcations -- bubble twice text https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/642894 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Telepathy, which is a direct subscriber.
