every time i log in the empathy contact windows opens on my desktop. Its
REALLY annoying. I have tried closing down the window and then logging
off again buit the window still opens up again on login.
1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu.
DISTRIB_RELEASE=10.10
2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename' or by checking in Synaptic.

This should be an easy thing to fix ... its a really dump behavior to
code into the appp
