above fix doesn't work, returns same error message plus

 "Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)"

I've also tried: sudo apt-get clean && sudo apt-get autoclean and a sudo
apt-get autoremove as well as a normal remove and re-install.

anything else I could try?
