Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: empathy
Today I changed the passwords of my IM accounts:
- ICQ (via website)
- MSN (via website)
- Jabber (installed pidgin in a virtual machine and changed the password with pidgin, because it's not possible to change it with empathy)
After that I changed the passwords in empathy in the account dialog. I also changed the passwords of my accounts in meebo (www.meebo.com) and this works fine.
But empathy couldn't connect to one of my accounts now. So I tried to delete the following folders:
~/.config/empathy
~/.local/share/Empathy
~/.gconf/apps/empathy
and also deleted the stored passwords for this accounts in seahorse.
So I think I had to switch back to pidgin. So I installed pidgin and configured all my accounts. This works fine. But I would give empathy a last change. So I deleted all my accounts in empathy and reimported the accounts from pidgin.
And what should I say. Now I could connect to my accounts with empathy again.
What's the right way to change my passwords in empathy? Installing
pidgin and reimport my accounts could not be the right way?!
