I have openned a bug report on Bugzilla
Title: block contacts in your contacts list
URL: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/post_bug.cgi

Bug #557521 address a similar issue, but it is limited to MSN contacts
and it is marked as incomplete

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: empathy

This is not a bug but a feature request.
- Empathy does not allow to block contacts in the contacts list on 2.28.1.1
+ Empathy does not allow to block contacts in the contacts list on version 2.28.x up to version 2.30.x

- Let's say I have X (msn), Y (yahoo), Z (jabber) contacts in my contacts list.
+ Let's say I have X (account msn), Y (account yahoo), Z (account jabber) contacts in my contacts list.
I want to chat with X & Y, X excluded: this can not be done.
Needless to say, being unable to be selectively available is a privacy concern.
-
- Is this function available on Lucid 10.04 RC, or on the Empathy PPA (version 2.30.0.1 -- at the day of this message)?
- Is there a bug report duplicate of this one already ported upstream? I couldn't find one.
