i'm not sure if this is the same problem, but i tried to get empathy
working with pidgin-skype and had no luck. i wasn't enable to create a
account with bigbrownchunx-skype-dbus in empathy, but it worked with
installing skype4pidgin. only problem, the plugin depends on pidgin. i
made a new deb-package witch needs pidgin or empathy. now i can use
skype with empathy without installing pidgin. see here for more:
