Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: empathy
Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 Beta2 (updated as of Mon 19th April 2010
~10:00am). When connecting to or disconnecting from a VPN (mine uses the
remote server as default route) the empathy connection is lost , though
the task bar doesn't report this and the status remains as online. This
happens even in mid-conversation.
