I completely agree with Everett Guerny.

An Ubuntu release with a default chat client that won't let you create
an account without saving a password is seriously broken.

And if that's not the subject of this bug, then what is the subject of
this bug?  And #391659 needs to cease to be marked as a duplicate of
this bug.
