Thank you for the bug report.  Is this the first time you have run
empathy?  Is there already accounts setup for use in empathy?  Had you
been using pidgin before on this same install (or using the same home
directory)?  If so, did you get prompted to import you account settings
from pidgin when you ran empathy?
