I want to confirm this bug but I need additional information.   What
happens if you decline to import settings from pidgin when launching
empathy?  Are all your settings gone?

If so then does the installation of pidgin damage your empathy
configuration files or just launching the application?

I need to reproduce the problem before I can update the bug.
