[Bug 400352] [NEW] Karmic: Empathy and Notify-osd don't play if the chat window is open

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

While empathy doesn't have a chat window (in this case salut talking to
bonjour on jaunty pidgin) open notify-osd displays everything that is
typed on the jaunty computer. However once I open the chat window even
if it isn't the selected window all that happens is the button on the
bottom task bar flashes orange. Notify-osd is no-longer used.

I'm not sure if this should be fixed in empathy or notify-osd or if
there is anything to fix. But it doesn't feel as well integrated as
pidgin is at the moment.

Tested using 20090715 ubuntu i386 updated on the 16th
