Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please file a separate bug for separate issues.  I'm
editing the description to make this bug about the webcam issue.

Please install the application "cheese" from the repositories by running
"sudo apt-get install cheese" on a terminal.  Run cheese by typing
"cheese" in Alt + F2.  Please report back if your camera is working
there.

This will help us to find and resolve the problem.
