I will not use empathy without OTR support either. The statement of the
developers is absurd - they think, that their users dont need it and the
only other option is to wait until there is native support in some
protocol, which most users dont use or even know about. So thank you for
telling me, that I dont need OTR and should convince all my chat-buddies
to switch to jingle, but I prefer I to choose what to do with my
computer, so until there is OTR support for empathy I will use Pidgin.
