Seeing yourself in your buddy list isn't really a bug as, according to
your logs, you are actually in your own list.

But Empathy shouldn't be confused when you try to open a chat with
yourself. Which version of Empathy are you using? Could you retry using
a recent one (as the one in Karmic or in the Telepathy PPA)?
