Usually in this case, your passwords for IM accounts and other things
like that are in the "login" keyring which automatically unlocks at
session startup. Is this the case for you ?

(go in Applications > Accessories > Passwords and Keys (or something
like that) and in the password tab, you should see 2 keyrings : login
and default. your passwords for empathy should be into login in order to
be automatically usable without password when your session is open.
