Does this extension work with sugar 0.88? If not, why not update the
package instead of removing it from the archive?

Remove binary and source

This package has not been update since Mar 2008.  The preferred method for installing sugar activities in ubuntu is using activity bundle via http://activities.sugarlabs.org/en-US/sugar/

This system is very similar to how firefox addons are installed via addons.mozilla.org .
