Hello All,
Today, Michael tried opening up the sugar emulator, straight from
"Applications-->Education", and this mouse bug happened yet again.
He has Lucid installed and is on what I believe to be the latest version of
sugar-0.88, 0.87.1-1, which he installed straight from the Sugarteam PPA.
At this point I'm starting to believe that it is our hardware, because
Dfarning could not reproduce it. Michael is running a Dell Latitude E5500.
When Alsroot looked into this same problem in sugar-0.86, he was indeed able
to reproduce it (On his own laptop I believe.)
I'm going to work on reproducing it in a virtualbox now, but it's a pretty
vital problem to fix.

Status in “sugar-0.88” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released
Bug description:
After installing this package, the mouse is not working like its supposed to in Gnome. <ctrl> needs to be pressed when clicking for the left mouse button to work. Bug only appears after sugar is used. Henry Grover wrote this shell script to fix the bug temporarily:

#Fix metacity clicking problem caused by alsroot's sugar, run in the home directory of whoever has the problem
rm .gconf/apps/%gconf.xml
rm .gconf/apps/metacity/%gconf.xml
