this has been fixed as of the latest release of Sugar on maverick.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: sugar-base

sugar-session displays a white screen when you start it, because it cannot find the icons.
the problem is the gnome theme does not have the sugar icons in the search path.


I wrote about this in my blog and proposed a hack to fix it :
