Good points.

.po files are shipped with Sugar activities on the OLPC XO, in the
theoretical hope that "teh childrenz!!1!" will be able to fix bad
translations themselves and that some peer-to-peer translation
distribution mechanism would be developed. That's definitely out of
scope for Ubuntu, so I'll remove the po files.

I'll look into using setup.py for installing - my goal was to get the
new upstream version packaged before feature freeze using Jani's
existing packaging and then work on improving it.

Status in “sugar-read-activity” source package in Ubuntu: Confirmed

Bug description:
Binary package hint: sugar-read-activity

sugar-read-activity was removed from intrepid before release because it depended on patches for evince which were not upstream. They have been upstreamed finally and are in evince now (as of the upload in bug 325015).

The latest upstream release is here: http://download.sugarlabs.org/sources/sucrose/fructose/Read/Read-63.tar.bz2

diff.gz to come.
