You can get python-abiword by following the advice at
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Sugar_on_Ubuntu_Linux#Option_3_-_Hardy_packages.

You need to add the repository lines

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/sugar/ubuntu hardy main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/sugar/ubuntu hardy main

to your /etc/apt/sources.list.

However, after seemingly successful installation Write and Poll both
fail due to missing libraries.
