I don't know how to stress this enough: NEVER use Otto's PPA. It is<br>
known to cause breakage and needless bug reports against the Ubuntu<br>
package. I have had to fight against that PPA for the past two years.<br>
People are breaking their systems by using that PPA, and you're one<br>
example. DO. NOT. USE. IT.<br>

Something that might work is installing "ppa-purge" and typing "sudo<br>
ppa-purge ppa:otto-kesselgulasch<br>
<<a href="https://launchpad.net/~otto-kesselgulasch" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">https://launchpad.net/~otto-kesselgulasch</a>>/gimp-stable" to get back to<br>
the repo version. If that doesn't work, then clean install, and DON'T<br>
ADD THAT PPA!<br>
