</span>If the original poster shouldn't know how to chose the correct device by<br>
qjackctl's settings, then we need to know the output of<br>

 qjackctl -v<br>

since we need to know, if the settings GUI is the old or the new one.<br>
resp. since it's a default install of what ever version of Ubuntu<br>
Studio, it most likely is the old GUI.<br>

I don't have the old GUI available, but I suspect that there are<br>
<br>
"Interface"<br>
"Output device"<br>
"Input device"<br>
<br>
available by Qjackctl's old GUI's "Setup...".<br>
<br>
If so, than nothing should be messed up, assumed the original poster<br>
would select the same device for "Interface", "Output device" and "Input<br>
device". However, just one of the two devices could work in "duplex"<br>
mode.<br>
