I Use a Roland as well. Needed to get some drivers and write a script to load at boot. I'm interested in both MIDI and audio. In Ubuntu Studio 8.04 there was a patch for the kernel, but fortunately this is not necessary in US 9.04. Almost everything explained for Edirol UA-25 could be applied for Edirol UA-25EX. Read ALSA wiki pages.
