<div>Sorry for this beginner question...</div> <div> </div> <div>I installed Ubuntu Studio inside VMWare, under Windows Vista. It worked fine until I tried to make some partition changes and had to reinstall Windows from the backup image, due to the complete mess I`ve done.</div> <div> </div> <div>So I decided to purchase an external HD, and reinstall UBST there.</div> <div>Now doing all the partition work with care, everything worked fine, I managed starting UBST installation.</div> <div> </div> <div>After that, asked by the system to reboot, GRUB working OK, the system returned an error (in a text screen) saying it was not possible to load X. I then open the X return message and got something like this:</div> <div>"X Window System Version 7.2.0</div> <div>Release Date: 22 jan 2007</div> <div>X Protocol Versino 11, Revision 0, Release 7.2</div> <div>Build Operating System: Linux Ubuntu</div> <div>Current Operationg System: Linux zev-mob
2.6.20-15-low latency #2 SMP</div> <div>...</div> <div>Fatal server error:</div> <div>Caught signal 11. Server Aborting"</div> <div> </div> <div>After that, the system open terminal mode and accepted my login normally. But refused connections to the graphical mode.</div> <div> </div> <div>What could have been wrong?</div> <div>thanks in advance,</div> <div> </div> <div>Zevang</div> <div> </div> <div>P.S. Configs are:</div> <div>Notebook Acer Core Duo 1.6 (not Core Duo 2)</div> <div>1GB mem</div> <div>main HD 160 GB (two NTFS partitions)</div> <div>ext USB HD 120 GB (one main ext3 partition+swap, one NTFS partition)</div> <div> </div><p>
