You completely missed my point that the bug in question is entirely out of mine and
my teams hands and that you're barking up the wrong tree. There's literally nothing
I or the rest of the Ubuntu Studio team can do about the installation errors you're
facing, which are also affecting Ubuntu Desktop and Ubuntu Server since it's the
exact same package.
Here's some info about the GRUB package (and its source package, grub2):
* grub-efi-amd64-signed (1.192+2.06-2ubuntu16, lunar): GRand Unified
Bootloader, version 2 (EFI-AMD64 version, signed). In component main, is optional.
Built by grub2-signed. Size 1,346 kB / 7,009 kB. (Only available for amd64.)
The highlight here is "In component main". Main is the main repository that only
people with Ubuntu Core Developer permissions can touch. I only have Master of
the Universe permissions, which means I can't touch Main, but can touch Universe
and Multiverse. By the way, that's higher permissions than anyone else on my team
currently, but still doesn't let me touch GRUB.
Again, you're barking up the wrong tree, and I suggest sticking to the bug report for
communication or a mailing list. Emailing people directly to bring attention to a bug
report (especially one out of their control) is highly inappropriate.
Rest assured it is being worked on, and that if you had simply looked at the Ubuntu
Developers mailing list, you may have seen that and may have been able to provide
some feedback yourself (after subscribing):

But emailing me directly and implying insistently that it's under my control after
being told repeatedly that it's not is completely inappropriate.
