[ubuntu-studio-users] Ubuntu Studio 16.04 to 18.04.2

I decided to upgrade versions today.  Software updater reports "The
Software on this computer is up to date. However, Ubuntu Studio 18.04.4 LTS
is now available (you have 16.04). So, I select Upgrade and it asks for my
root password, which I type in the space provided followed by a return.
Then nothing happens.    Anyone have a clue what's going on?
