What ever distro and what ever WM/DE you'll use, there always will be
issues regarding GTK 2 vs GTK 3 vs Qt n.
For vivid's kdenlive you need to set up Qt 4 preferences, while
vivid's Xfce4 is based on GTK 3 and vivid's systemsettings care about
Qt 5 and not Qt 4.
I'm not using Ubuntu anymore, so this is just what a web research
