the only kernel that is installed is the lowlatency kernel.
I manually edit grub.cfg, so I can't help you to fix GRUB the
configuration files, that are needed to automatically generate grub.cfg.
If you want to use a generic kernel, you need to install it, it
definitively isn't installed. I recommend to install the kernel headers
too, there might be a hook, e.g. DKMS perhaps will build modules vor
VBox or they might be needed to build a proprietary graphics driver.
The generic kernel has got less advantages over the lowlatency kernel,
you unlikely will gain something, when using the generic kernel. Assumed
you use real transparency for Windows, by using a FLOSS graphics driver,
the generic kernel likely provides better performance, OTOH rt audio
will suffer, when using the generic kernel.
