Hi and welcome!

While i perfectly understand why my answer isn't the solution you are
looking for, just in case you would have missed that ubuntustudio comes
equipped with Ardour, i would like to underline how easy Ardour comes to
a cubase/nuendo user :) Of course, it takes a bit of fiddling around and
trial-and-error, so it may be a good idea to dive into it at some moment
where you have time and space, but its really worth it!
