those amazing beasts from Steinberg can't be used on a Linux host.
Neither when running wine, resp. wineasio, nor when running a VM such
as e.g. Virtualbox. If you want to use this kind of
sophisticated software for audio production, then you need
to run Windows. You can have a Linux and Windows in parallel installed
on your machine. There's at least one Windows DAW that can run more or
less good on wineasio, it's Reaper. Linux does provide native
Linux DAWs too, resp. several apps that can be used in combination.
However, running pro-audio apps on Linux requires to tweak the system,
even if you have got a default Ubuntu Studio install. FWIW you need to
tweak a Windows too, before you can use it for pro-audio.
If you want to use Linux applications, we need more information about
what you want to do and what audio card you're using.
